IRS Tax Center The Internal Revenue Service maintains an extensive amount of information on its website. This page of selected links to small business information on the IRS site is provided by the Treasure Coast Chapter of SCORE in cooperation with the IRS.

SBA South Florida Small Business Resource This is the 2014-2015 version of the SBA's annual magazine providing a very informative listing of the resources available to small businesses in South Florida. This website contains a treasure trove of incredibly useful information about all aspects of entrepreneurship.

The On-Line Women's Business Center is part of the SBA web site and has numerous resources aimed specifically at helping women in business.

Commerce Clearing House and click on "Starting Your Business". This web site is from the Commerce Clearing House and contains a discussion of the various forms of business structures, with pros and cons.

Free On-Line Course from the University of Maryland This course emphasizes the analysis of opportunity for developing innovative ideas for new companies and entrepreneurs.

Business Plan:

SCORE/SBA Online Business Plan Tool To simplify the process, SBA has just launched a new “Build a Business Plan” online tool that guides small business owners through the process of creating a basic, downloadable business plan. The great thing about this tool is you can build a plan in smaller bites, save your progress and return at your leisure. Business Planning This site offers many great business planning resources for writing your business plan. Business Planning This site gives a "step by step" guide to writing a business plan.

Starting a Business and Writing a Business by Prof. Dennis Masino & Jackie Giulano. This is an excellent online document which includes a very straight forward guide for new business owners. This site has a series of sample plans for various types of businesses is available for download/viewing in Word, text, and Adobe PDF formats. Look under heading section "C" behind the Online Library/Publications buttons. This is a business planning resource that includes free samples of business plans plus other valuable information. This site offers an abundance of free sample plans, tools, and articles helpful to the business planning process.

Free Online Course from the University of Maryland This course will provide information and resources for financing new ventures for entrepreneurs.

SBA - Analyze Your Business Small business owners and start-ups in South Florida now have a new business tool to help them compete and grow.  The free tool, called SizeUp, helps businesses identify new customers and compare their performance against other businesses in their industry with data collected from hundreds of private and public sources.  The tool can be found at This website will offer sales force automation as an online service. It will allow you to securely access, manage and share sales information with no software to buy. This is Microsoft's small business web site where you can find useful information to market and manage your business. This site gives you over 30 links to resources for your marketing program.

Doing Business in Port St. Lucie This website provides a wealth of information about doing business in the City of Port St. Lucie, including a checklist f the important steps in starting a new business. This is the website of the Stuart/Martin County Chamber of Commerce and it offers a wealth of information about the community. This is the website of the Business Resource Guide, which is structured to provide information by district, i.e. South Florida. This is the website of the Treasure Coast Economic Development Council with links to each of the Economic Development Councils of the counties which make up the Treasure Coast.
