Florida Trend Magazine A complete source of information about business in the Sate of Florida, with significant links to an incredible array of resources available to help business owners and operators to build and grow their enterprises.

IRS Tax Center The Internal Revenue Service maintains an extensive amount of information on its website. This page of selected links to small business information on the IRS site is provided by the Treasure Coast Chapter of SCORE in cooperation with the IRS.

SBA South Florida Small Business Resource This is the 2012 version of the SBA's annual magazine providing a very informative listing of the resources available to small businesses in South Florida.

Entrepreneur.com This website contains a treasure trove of incredibly useful information about all aspects of entrepreneurship.

Start Up:

SBA and click on "starting your business". This web site will give you a step by step guide to all the factors in starting your business.

The On-Line Women's Business Center is part of the SBA web site and has numerous resources aimed specifically at helping women in business.

Commerce Chearling House and click on "Starting Your Business". This web site is from the Commerce Clearing House and contains a discussion of the various forms of business structures, with pros and cons.

Business Plan:

SCORE/SBA Online Business Plan Tool To simplify the process, SBA has just launched a new “Build a Business Plan” online tool that guides small business owners through the process of creating a basic, downloadable business plan. The great thing about this tool is you can build a plan in smaller bites, save your progress and return at your leisure.

Rapid-Advance.com Business Planning This site offers many great business planning resources for writing your business plan.

Entrpreneur.com Business Planning This site gives a "step by step" guide to writing a business plan.

www.sba.gov/library/pubs.html This site has a series of sample plans for various types of businesses is available for download/viewing in Word, text, and Adobe PDF formats. Look under heading section "C" behind the Online Library/Publications buttons.

www.bplans.com This is a business planning resource that includes free samples of business plans plus other valuable information.

http://www.businessplans.org/ This site offers an abundance of free sample plans, tools, and articles helpful to the business planning process.

Loan Information:

www.livecapital.com This web site represents several firms that provide financial services to small business. You are able to file an online application, providing personal information along with data on your business and your need for the loan. Assuming good credit, you can get an answer the same day for loans up to $50,000.

www.companyfinance.com On this site you have access to over 100 lending institutions, which compete to offer you the best terms. It will collect financial data from you and sort through the database to select firms most likely to be a good match for your needs. You may select to apply directly to these firms or request that they contact you.


Sales / Marketing:

SBA - Analyze Your Business Small business owners and start-ups in South Florida now have a new business tool to help them compete and grow.  The free tool, called SizeUp, helps businesses identify new customers and compare their performance against other businesses in their industry with data collected from hundreds of private and public sources.  The tool can be found at www.sba.gov/sizeup.

www.salesforce.com This website will offer sales force automation as an online service. It will allow you to securely access, manage and share sales information with no software to buy.

www.bcentral.com This is Microsoft's small business web site where you can find useful information to market and manage your business.

http://www.stuartmartinchamber.org/ This is the website of the Stuart/Martin County Chamber of Commerce and it offers a wealth of information about the community.

http://www.reni.net/guides/ This is the website of the Business Resource Guide, which is structured to provide information by district, i.e. South Florida.

http://www.floridatc.com/ This is the website of the Treasure Coast Economic Development Council with links to each of the Economic Development Councils of the counties which make up the Treasure Coast.

Financial / Accounting / Computer Bookkeeping:

SCORE is one of the few sources of economical workshops on basic bookkeeping, QuickBooks and the accounting background you will need for your business plan.
